DeShannon Higa's Subtonic Orchestra.jpg

deshannon higa - 2018

The brainchild of trumpeter DeShannon Higa and in his own words, Subtonic Orchestra is an ensemble consisting of horns and rhythm instruments. Established in 2012, this band has its roots in jazz, funk, hip hop and Latin. At its heart, Subtonic Orchestra is a jazz ensemble, clothed in and personified by contemporary funk, hip hop, and Latin colors. The group remains focused on being an improvisational band, but refined through orchestrated voicing and arrangements, which makes for a smooth and impactful listening experience. After Subtonic Orchestra's debut Blue Note Hawaii performance and regular performances at other dedicated jazz venues, DeShannon Higa released his solo album in November, featuring Subtonic Orchestra members including Ethan.

Paula Fuga.jpg

paula fuga - (TBA 2019)

Paula is a distinguished artist, and an inspiration to many. She's regarded as a powerhouse vocalist and a ukulele extraordinaire, an ambassador of the Hawaiian culture with her infectious positivity, as well as a humanitarian through her work with youth groups across the world to promote the values of love, humility, and perseverance. Part of her stardom includes previous album releases with songs featuring Jack Johnson, Ziggy Marley, Mike Love, among other music icons, and her storytelling through music has earned her a wide fan base. Ethan is without a doubt excited about Paula's next album release and delighted to have recorded in the studio with her for some of the songs.
